Metering.Network Data Transfer Variants

  • Application with Ethernet connection

  • Application with Powerline Carrier connection (PowerLAN)

Data transfer via Ethernet

Metering.Network - Ethernet connection

An S0 active power meter (= alternating current meter) is connected to a consumer (in this example a control cabinet with consumer connections) and an S0 supply meter via S0 interfaces.
The recorded supply data are then relayed to a server or user PC via Ethernet.

Data transfer via power supply line (Powerline Carrier)

Metering.Network - Powerlan connection
The connection of the active power meter to a consumer and the supply meter is performed in the same way as with the Ethernet connection variant (above). However, instead of the Ethernet, the standard power supply line is used for this variant. The supply meter / collector is connected to the 230V AC power supply line. The recorded supply data is sent via power supply line and received at the cient (e.g., server or user PC) through a PowerLAN adapter.
