Features, functions and applications

| |
The LINUX-based operating system is subject to the GNU General Public License. LINUX Box LB1 has two fully assigned serial RS232 SUB D9 interfaces as well as one internal, and two external USB ports. The embedded industrial computer is easily integrated into your company network via Ethernet interface. With its 32-bit RISC CPU, battery-buffered real-time clock and 64 MB RAM, the LINUX Box LB1 is ideally designed for complex CPU-intensive applications. LINUX Box LB1 is also set up ready for easy flash memory extension. An optional CompactFlash socket can be easily refit.
Ready to run
The ready to run LINUX Box LB1 is based on the LINUX operating system and numerous pre-installed network services. With the Ethernet interface, the user can immediately use the HTTP server, start SSH or FTP data transfer, or set up a Telnet connection.
LINUX-basedLINUX Box LB1 includes a standardly pre-installed LINUX operating system. Based on versions 2.4.31 or 2.6.15, the complete kernel can be easily modified to meet your own requirements. Since LINUX is freely available, there are no further costs involved for the operating system. The multi-user operating system offers the full-range functionality of an up-to-date operating system. Real multi-tasking, virtual memory management, dynamic libraries and more state-of-the-art concepts make LINUX an ideal tool for a great variety of applications.
Compact designThe extremely compact aluminum casing hardly heats up. The fanless (passively cooling) LINUX Box LB1 has no rotating parts and is thus invariably fit for maintenance-free, non-stop operation. Due to its robust design, it is perfectly suited for tabletop use as well as for compact mounting on a DIN-Rail of a control desk, control cabinet or other control panels. The tabletop version standardly includes a high-quality 9 V switch-mode power supply pack. The LINUX Box LB1 for mounting on DIN-Rail is supplied with 24 V via control unit or other sources, commonly standard in the automation industry.

More advantages
The budget-priced LINUX Box LB1 features a compact design, 32-bit RISC CPU, low power input, and the open-source LINUX operating system. The system is ready to run, and the user is in a position to benefit from immediate access to a wide range of network services such as the HTTP, FTP, SSH, PPP, and TELNET servers as well as the FTP, SSH, and DHCP clients. Users also have the option to decide whether they want to develop their own software solutions for specific uses or utilize the offered extensive open source software. Last but not least, the embedded system provides fast boot times and safe operation.
