Log printer replacement also includes additional functions such as quality analysis and production process tracing
ipEther232.LogPrinter is a low-budget solution for automatically recording, and electronically
saving and processing print data from injection mold machines.
The integrated software solution makes print data such as process parameters / actual value logs electronically available within the company network both as print
preview and as separately analyzable data for further processing with a PC. Moreover you can analyze and visualize the data with the machine-independent
Factory Monitoring System, FAMOUS.
Innovative replacement
In the paperless procedure the processing parameters are, as usual, conveyed to the printer or, respectively,
the printer interface of the injection mold machine. The compact, space-saving converter, ipEther232.LogPrinter,
is simply connected to the (parallel or serial) printer interface in place of the legacy log printer to perform the required
electronic data transfer.
Network integration, data storage
The included Ethernet interface enables easy integration of the log printing converter into the company PC network. The print data is then transferred directly
to a conventional PC or server for data storage. When stored the electronically recorded print data is automatically linked to the respective injection mold
machines and is now available to the operator as a 1:1 print preview on the PC screen.
Transfer reliability
In the case of network problems, the transfer data is automatically buffered in the log printer converter. Up to 600 data lines of a maximum 50 characters can be
buffered per injection mold machine, thus guaranteeing highly reliable data transfers. Should the data transfer of a machine fail for some reason, the fault event
can be reported automatically to one or more operators by email.
Additional benefits, options
By default, the ipEther232.LogPrinter displays the usual 1:1 print preview on the PC screen.
Optionally, individually preset queries can be induced with current software tools such as SQL, Access or also Excel.
The user may choose from an unlimited array of options from the simple quality analysis / production tracing tools through
to the more complex monitoring systems such as FAMOUS and is not in any way tied to any particular manufacturer.
Further advantages
In addition to the simple deployment of the legacy log printer, this cost-effective method opens up a considerable number of further advantages:
- Easy application of the available printer interface for electronic machine and monitoring data transfer, for example, in the form of actual value logs
- Generalized communication flow due to network integration
- Cost-savings due to no longer necessary paper printouts and manual archiving
- Absolutely reliable electronic data logging
- Space-saving long-term archiving for perfectly infallible tracing
- Quick traceability from workplace PC
- Electronic further processing of data logs at workplace PC
- Data analysis and visualization with machine-independent Factory Monitoring System FAMOUS
