The PPP / Ethernet Converter ipEther232.PPP enables the transmission of network packets via a serial interface from and to the Ethernet (PPP = Point to Point Protocol).
Today, "to be linked" is the global standard. Most of the devices are already equipped with a RS232/485 interface, so that the PPP-Converter offers an economical and quick solution for exchanging TCP/IP frames over a serial interface with the network.
Therefore it is possible to connect all those “TCP/IP devices” which possess only a RS232/485 interface to the Ethernet network, Internet as well as to the company-owned Intranet.
The PPP-Gateway is an operating system independent solution and is compatible with existing PPP applications. Several services like ftp, telnet, www, ssh, rsh, rcp etc. can be started simultaneously over the transparent network connection.
