Firmware and configuration tool of the individual versions can possibly be incompatible with one another.

Updates from Version 8 to 9
|
An update from Version 8 to Version 9 is possible. The configuration tool remains the same, only a firmware update is performed.
- You can update the firmware in the "Firmware" section of the configuration tool.
- Make sure that only one ipEther232.PPP is installed.
- Now, perform the firmware update (firmware Version 9).
- For further updates of higher versions, please proceed as described in "Updates from Version 9 to 10".

|
An Update from Version 9 to higher versions cannot be performed that easily. Please inquire about the update possibilities of your firmware and configuration tool versions beforehand.

| Update of Version 10 to 12 |
- Performing an update of Version 10 to any higher version is possible without any problem.
- Uninstall the current installed configuration tool. ("ipcas ethernet products" in control panel)
- Next, install the latest configuration tool version (12).
- Then install Service Pack 1 for Version 12 (it includes updates and the current firmware).
- Open the configuration tool and select "Upload firmware" by clicking the right mouse button.
- Select the new ipEther232.PPP Version 10.4 now (ipEther_PPP_V10-4.HEX).
- After successfully completing the firmware upload, a restart of the configuration tool may be required.
