Using triggers and recording filters

Trace view (Parameter details not available in Basic version)

Under the Trace tab, you will find a display of detailed information and a sequence of functions.

Right clicking any column header and selecting Customize Columns will bring further options to display the output of the functions.

Information regarding 'parameter details' (displayed in green) will only be shown if Enable Argument Trace and Enable Return Value Trace are checked within the Data trace tab located on the Project configuration workspace in the profiler.

To optimize your trace data, you can use Post-processing filters to filter unnecessary data from the output. In the example below, only functions containing WinTest will be shown. The other functions that do not have WinTest will be excluded. A lot of time is saved by this procedure. You can filter not only by Functions, but also Function Arguments, Call-No, Start-Time, Thread, Total Time (ms), Module and Function Return Value.
